Commission Info

🌿 Simple backgrounds are free of charge.
     🍃 Ex: gradients, simple patterns, solid colors, sketched environments, small elements/FX
🌿 I will take 20% off your total commission if you are commissioning me with a design I made :)
🌿 Multiple characters will be priced at 75% of their normal price (ie. 75% of a fullbody price, etc.)
🌿 If I don’t have a clear color/design reference or a very detailed description, I may charge more for the commission since I will have to design some aspects of the character. Please come prepared to answer my questions or have images on hand!
🌿I am best contacted on Discord or Instagram for commissions, and will generally proceed with commission conversation on Discord, where I respond the fastest. I can also be emailed ([email protected])!

Terms of Service

By commissioning me, you agree to the terms below, regardless of whether or not you have read them.

Ownership:
🌿 I maintain ownership of the artwork at all times.
🌿 You will own the rights to any designs purchased from me and/or the rights/designs to your characters depicted in my artwork.Character Design Rights:
🌿 I maintain ownership of the artwork of the design, and you (the commissioner) own the rights to the design and character.
🌿 If large design changes are made, you are free to claim that new design as yours!
     🍃 I do ask that I am credited for the original design, where relevant.
🌿 You are free to use my designs to translate into other media, redesign, or use in NSFW material.
🌿 Do not use my designs to promote hateful or bigoted content.Denial/Cancellation of Commissions:
🌿 I maintain the right to turn down a commission for any reason.
🌿 My designs or art cannot be used to push hateful prerogatives: examples include bigotry, ableism, homophobia, etc.
     🍃 I will not draw artwork with this material if I feel it promotes these themes.
🌿 Tracing, stolen OCs or art, harassment, disrespect to me/my art, or others/their art will not be tolerated.
     🍃 I may ask to see proof of ownership of the art or character if I suspect stolen art or characters.
     🍃 I will not create work from AI-generated content, or create work designed to explicitly copy another artist.
🌿 Excessive modification and nitpicking will not be tolerated. (6+ edits, sudden changes midway through the process, etc.)Payment:
🌿 I expect the payment to be paid in full for any piece, or half upfront with the final half paid before receiving the finished artwork.
     🍃 Payment plans are on a trust-level basis and I decide when to dole them out.
🌿 Refunds will be issued based on level of completion and is available only for pieces with value over 150$. 100% refunds are available ONLY for thumbnail sketches without any other progress.
🌿 I will not provide refunds for artwork that is more than 50% finished.
🌿I accept payment in PayPal, Venmo, or Discord Nitro.
🌿I am rarely open to haggling, and any discounts provided will be on a strict case-by-case basis, aside from my standing "20% off for my designs" policy.Usage of Artwork:
🌿 I may use or post your commission elsewhere as a commission example or to my social platforms.
     🍃 If you would prefer this work to be private, please let me know in advance!
🌿 Although you may request various versions of the art (without BG, unwatermarked, etc.), please refrain from publicly reposting unwatermarked art.
     🍃 Using the unwatermarked version is okay for use in profile pics, banners, thumbnails, etc. provided it is under your accounts and artwork you paid for.
🌿 I may request that you take down artwork from somewhere if I do not want it to be shared there (largely Amino or other sites with little to no art theft protection).
     🍃 Similarly, my artwork is explicitly prohibited from being saved/posted on Pinterest.
🌿 I require credit for my art wherever it is posted or used.
     🍃 You can use my Discord tag (nunbird/NunBird#9999), Instagram (nun.bird), Bluesky (nunbird.bsky.social) or Toyhouse (NunBird). Feel free to ping/mention/tag me there!
🌿 My artwork cannot be used in compilations, edits, etc. without my explicit permission.
🌿 Furthermore, my artwork is explicitly prohibited from being entered into AI models or being used to train AI Art generators. Refrain from generating AI images in "my style".
🌿 You may not profit from my art (Ex. making merch, reselling for higher value, minting it as an NFT, etc.) without my express permission/a commercial license.
🌿 You can make edits to the art yourself once I have completed it (filters, etc.) assuming the edits are not for bigoted/hateful purposes or are NSFW in nature.

Design Usage

🌿 If you have a Toyhouse, please upload it there! My username is NunBird.
🌿 Refrain from crediting using a nickname - it should be linked back to a social, such as my Instagram or Discord. I can be credited through my Discord user (nunbird/NunBird#9999), Instagram (nun.bird), or Toyhouse (NunBird).
🌿 If selling or transferring the character, please let me know so that I can make a note of it!
🌿 When selling my designs, you cannot sell it for more than what you bought it for, unless it comes with additional art.
🌿 You don't need to credit me if the character is/has gone through:
     🍃 Major redesigns
     🍃 Being shown to people privately (obviously I'll never really know either way but it's appreciated!)
🌿 I really don't care what you do with the character design, but please refrain from creating bigoted content with the designs. (Should be self-explanatory, but for example, don't make your character a raging neo-nazi for the purposes of spreading hate.)

What to Expect

Below is a general breakdown of what the commission process will be like!

Notes:
🌿 Discord is my preferred platform for commission discussion, but I am happy to accommadate if commission requests were made elsewhere.
🌿 Please come prepared with at least one full-image reference (or whatever is relevant), and notes of what you want included in the artwork!
     🍃 This can include descriptions of the painting, sketches, moodboards, personality/lore descriptions, etc.! The more the merrier :)
🌿 My images are generally worked on in 600 DPI, with a typical dimension of 6x10 in. (6000 x 3600 px), in a Display P3 color profile.
     🍃 If other dimensions/profiles are needed, I must be informed BEFORE payment, so I can prepare accordingly.
     🍃 Your final artwork will likely be 20-30+ MB. I can create lower-quality versions on request.
🌿 I will provide updates every 1-3 weeks, unless otherwise indicated.
     🍃 Please let me know how frequently you would like me to provide updates. They, especially before rendering begins, are designed to be opportunities for you to request minor changes or correct aspects of the artwork to your liking.
🌿 I may contact you to ask about various aspects of the painting - please be prepared to answer questions or be open to giving me artistic liberty if unknown.
🌿 My artwork is often a little bit experimental, and my exact process varies from piece to piece. Please understand that small alterations in my "style" may occur.
🌿 Please note that my art takes time, and that I am a busy individual! Art is not my full-time job. I cannot give a good estimate of my turnaround time or do rush pieces. I will do my best to update you frequently and let you know in advance if there will be delays. However, my art process can be slow at times, and especially with fully-rendered/painted work, can take a few months for me to finish.

Commission Process:
🌿 Request a commission from me!
     🍃 Include a reference of your character(s), and any relevant information for the piece.
     🍃 You will receive a quote, and any payment plans will be worked out here.
🌿 I will make 2-4 thumbnail sketches of your concepts.
     🍃 These will be rough, and may have grayscale or color blocking for clarity.
     🍃 You may ask for me to refine or alter these sketches further if they are unclear without additional charges.
🌿 After the sketch is decided, I will request payment.
      🍃 The commission will not be continued until I receive the payment.
🌿 You'll receive WIPs throughout the process, with opportunities for you to make minor requests for alterations. These will likely be during the following stages (roughly):
     🍃 Refined sketch/flats
     🍃 Lighting
     🍃 Initial rendering
     🍃 Midway through rendering (multiple)
     🍃 Final touches
🌿 When finished you will receive:
      🍃 Full-resolution images (.png) in a watermarked and unwatermarked version
     🍃 A BG-less version, if applicable
     🍃 A 30-second speedpaint, on request (if possible)
     🍃 Other versions can be requested, although I may not be able to accommodate depending on how the artwork was made.
